Grandpa:

Welcome back to Your Average Witch, where we talk about witch life, witch stories and sometimes a little witchcraft, and today about a puppy. I want to let everyone know that, as of this week, I'm going to move publishing to an episode every other week instead of every week, for a few reasons. Number one my business, Clever Kim's Curios and Crepuscular Conjuration, has gotten more busy since Stevie Nicks wore a piece of my jewelry in her music video for The Lighthouse and for most of her publicity appearances for that song. I also decided to increase the number of subscribers for Bee Boxes for 2025, so I've been preparing for that. And Gem Show is two weeks away. I'll be offering personal shopping again, so if you're interested in having me shop for you live at the Tucson Gem Show, let me know. I have very limited spots left, so contact me ASAP. You can email me at cleverkimscurios at gmailcom for that. Anyway, all of this gives me less time to work on finding and inviting guests to be on the show. And finally, I got a puppy.

Grandpa:

If you recall, I lost my dog Chuck a little over a year ago and we have finally decided that it's time to get another dog. So about a week ago we brought home a Great Dane Dutch Shepherd cross I've named Aoife. She's about four months old and not house trained and is teething, so everything's an adventure right now. The TLDR of it all is that there is not going to be an episode this week, but I expect to be back next week and every other week after that. Now I'm going to talk about Aoife for a little bit. So if you're here for the witches and not the wacky, this is where I'll see you next week, and thank you for listening. If you stick around, we can meander around puppy life for a minute. As I said, her name is Aoife, which is an Irish word that means beauty or radiance, and she's a lovely light brindle and it's basically batshit crazy, just like most puppies are, when they're four months old and in a new place. And the teething wow, uh, I finally got some rope toys for her today, which she loves, and no, I do not leave them with her unattended.

Grandpa:

I haven't had a puppy in more than 20 years and training methods have changed a lot. I am joining a lot of R plus non-aversive groups to learn more about newer ways of teaching and communicating with dogs. I even bought a starter set of talking buttons for her and if I bought the Fluentp et version, if you've seen the poodle old English sheepdog cross named Bunny from the channel What About Bunny. You know what I'm talking about, the buttons that they press and they like, talk to you. I even signed up for a class to start training me, to teach her and hopefully all my other pets, because we have four dogs and six cats at this point, how to use them, and I'm pretty excited about that. Anyway, if you have suggestions on places to learn positive reinforcement training, I would love to hear from you. Shoot me an email, grab me on Facebook or Instagram, whatever you know, whatever. Anyway, thanks for listening and I will see you next Tuesday.
