We talked about what it's like to have a witchy business, why we can't use pendulums like they do on Charmed, and how to help new witches find their way. Now let's get to the stories. Hi, morgan, good morning, welcome to the show.
Morgan:Thank you. Thank you for having me.
Kim:Thank you for being here. Can you please introduce yourself and let everybody know who you are and what you do and where they can find you?
Morgan:Yeah, I am Morgan. I am owner of Inked Goddess Creations, which is at inkedgoddesscreationscom, where a witchy store has been open for about 11 years now. Myself, I am an eclectic witch of about 25 years and I walk the Avalonian tradition spiritual path, so I do a little bit of everything when it comes to my witchcraft. I share all of that on social media. I I'm ink goddess creations just about everywhere. But, yeah, that's what I do for my. That's actually what I do for my magical life and my muggle life both.
Kim:That is cool. Yeah, do you identify as a witch? And if you do, what does that mean?
Morgan:I do identify as a witch. I I'm very open about my practice. Um, when I I think it was really scary coming out when I was, um, uh, about 19 or 20 to my mom, uh, to my parents, and then they were just like, yeah, we knew. And I was like, okay, cool, yeah, I was always like the weird kid, and even in high school they called me a witch. And that's when I really started like diving down into it. So, yeah, I 100% identify as a witch. It so, yeah, I 100% identify as a witch.
Morgan:For me it started out, like I said, in high school, as a derogatory term. Some, some shit happened and everyone thought I did it, and so they started calling me a witch. And Jesus, yeah, me, being the snarky person that I am, was like, oh well, if you're gonna call me a witch, I might as well be one. And so that's when I started looking at witchcraft and I was like, oh, my God, this answers all of my questions that I have about, like Christianity, because, you know, growing up in a Christian household. So I was like this answers everything. And I was like, maybe I really am a witch, holy shit.
Kim:So yeah, witch, holy shit, so yeah. So I just heard you say you grew up in a christian household, but were there any little sneaky, witchy things happening in the background when you weren't in church, like secret smoke cleansings that would happen on Saturday evenings, or anything?
Morgan:No, and we weren't really practicing Christians. I guess we didn't go to church regularly. My dad was Methodist and my mom was Presbyterian, so yeah, it wasn't really something that was super focused, you know it like. But no, there was not any kind of like. My introduction to witchcraft was the movie the Craft in like 1997, because I lived in a very small southern town. So that was my introduction to witchcraft and I fell in love with that movie and I was like, is this real? And so I had to go to a bookstore and start researching witchcraft to see what parts were real and what parts were Hollywood of that movie. But no, everything. When I was younger, everything was new to me. There was no inklings of anything within my household.
Kim:Well, can you introduce us to your practice? Do you have any consistent things that you do?
Morgan:I probably not anymore, just just because I've been doing this for 25 years. My big goal is just to live magically and kind of like infuse magic into everything that I do so like, for example, today, the day that we're recording this is Thursday. It resonates with the planet Jupiter, which is the color green. Yeah, so I'm decked out in green today. So it's little things like that that I do. And then I try. I try to meditate on a regular basis and convene with my goddesses and and all of that. But it's more just. I will ground myself in the morning, protect myself, open myself to my goddesses, my guides, you know all of that and then just really focus on my intuition. I think so like what? As I get those intuitive bumps throughout the day, it'll take me anywhere. So, yeah, some days I may light a candle, some days I might burn some handmade incense, some days I might pull a tarot card. I never know, because I just try to keep tapped into that flow on a regular basis.
Kim:Do you ever do pendulum stuff?
Morgan:I have pendulums. I seem to collect them like I do tarot cards. I have pendulums.
Kim:I seem to collect them, like I do tarot cards. Because it's fun to look at and touch things, is it?
Morgan:like dragon-y. Yes, yes, yes I don't ever do tarot.
Kim:There are so many tarot cards.
Morgan:So do I, and I can only read one deck like the images on one deck.
Kim:But you know a lot of times when family members are like what do we get a witch for Christmas?
Morgan:I collected it's like tarot deck is automatic and I'm like, okay, thank you, but I can't read this. Like I don't know what these pictures mean. So in another language yes, yeah, and the same with pendulums. Like I am a sucker for a gorgeous gemstone pendulum, so, um, there are oftentimes I will, I will buy them for the shop to sell and then I I end up keeping one because it's just so pretty, but I don't tend. They don't work like they did on Charmed and it's a little upsetting Because, like on Charmed, you know, they put out their little map and then the pendulum would just go directly To the person when they were looking. It doesn't happen like that in real life.
Kim:Ours is just rude, mine just refuses to cooperate. Yeah.
Morgan:Just help me out rock.
Morgan:Yeah, exactly yeah so how would you say witchcraft has changed your life oh, it is definitely um helped me walk to the beat of my own drum, embrace my shadows. That's a big one, I think. I think, especially growing up in a Christian household, you are taught that all dark things are bad. We don't talk about that, you just shove that down. You definitely don't tell people about that part of you and you just shove it all down and through shadow. Working in witchcraft, I've been able to pull a lot of stuff up to the light and be like this is me. So you can either accept it or, you know, screw you. So I think it's the empowerment aspect of witchcraft that has really helped me.
Kim:What would you say is the biggest motivator in your practice, and has it changed since you first started?
Morgan:Yeah, I think I think when, when I started out, it was all about the spell or the ritual. You know, like I, I took time to have my altar perfect, to have my altar perfect and do the steps of the spell or the ritual you know correctly and you know all of that good, just to make sure that the spell would work. And I'm I'm using the air quotation marks as I say that, because there's nothing that can guarantee that a spell will work. So I think that's like for me it's now it's about infusing myself into it. So what am I being called to do? What am I being called to perform and what will help me out? What do I want to put my energy towards? So that's that's the motivator.
Morgan:For me is like, if I'm going to pull out all this stuff, if I'm going to pull out candles and incense and all of that, I want to make sure that I know what I'm doing um night, that I I'm clear in what I'm doing, but that it resonates with me, it really does click with me, and there's no such thing as perfect. So I realized that along the way. So it's almost doing things on a whim to figure out what works and who I am. That's a huge. I'm a very curious person, so I would say that is a huge motivator in my practice is I will try something because I'll be like, yeah, fuck it, let's try it, see if it works. I don't know.
Morgan:So, that's a huge motivator. Are you an Aries, sagittarius or Gemini? I am not. I am a Aquarius sun, with Leo moon, leo rising. So all air and fire, all air and fire I'm really good at starting shit and letting it burn. Really hot, and then it may just fizzle out Flying away into space, yeah.
Kim:Yep, exactly Yep. What would you say is your biggest I?
Morgan:think now it's probably doing it not doing it daily, but like I feel like I should do it daily, I feel like I should, especially considering I teach in an online coven too. It's like I do fall a lot to like oh my god, I should be pulling a card every day. Oh my God, I should be doing this every day. I forget the full moon, like if it wasn't for the fact that I have someone that writes our full moon and new moon reports for me, I would never know what moon phase it was. So it's just it's keeping up with that. Like what is it? Lamas is for, at least right now, lamas is in a week or no, it's like next week. And I'm like oh cool, all right, well, maybe I'll remember that. So that's it's consistency.
Kim:I would say is my biggest struggle in my practice. Yeah, do you ever have imposter syndrome?
Morgan:Oh yeah, like all the time that, especially, like I said, because I teach, because that is a big thing, like I'm teaching people how to infuse their life magically, and that means something different to every person. But then, you know, I see the women in the group and they're like pulling tarot cards every day and it's so beautiful. And I'm just like, oh, I should probably be pulling a tarot card every day. Um, or they will share their full moon rituals. You know, just like their little setup before they get started and I'm like, fuck, it's the full moon, so it's exactly.
Kim:And I'm already in my PJs.
Morgan:Yes, and I'm like, do I even have the energy? Like I was in, I was on my way to bed, like exactly.
Morgan:Yeah. So it definitely. It definitely sets in Um, but I think that's another thing that I I I do teach a lot is making your stuff work for you. So some days it will be me, on the way to bed in my pajamas after I've brushed my teeth, going outside, sitting under the full moon for five minutes and being like okay, cool, we're good, I'm going to bed now and that's it, because that's what fits me.
Kim:Oh good. So, do you have that? Why is the? Why is the porch light on? Oh fuck, tonight's the night. Yeah, exactly, it shines directly into my eyes. Yeah, yeah, how do you beat it? The old imposter.
Morgan:Yeah, I have. I've learned a lot of self compassion lately and I think I've also found the beauty in my chaos and my um, my chaos and my imperfectionism. Yeah, I've found beauty in that and I've found comfort in that. So, whenever I whenever I do have it, I'm, I'm like you know what? This is what makes me me, this is what makes my practice mine, and my practice is not like anyone else's, and that's how I, that's how I sleep at night when it's a full moon, and I didn't do anything yeah, noted, yeah, what brings you the most joy in your practice.
Morgan:I really do enjoy meditating and, like I said, I walk the path of the Avalonian tradition. So my little happy place is Avalon, which is a mythical place, but it's believed to be in Glastonbury, england, and I've been to Glastonbury. So when I meditate I go to a little happy place in Avalon and I love it and I love convening with my goddesses and talking with them and having them smack me upside the head for something you know and set me on the right path again. I don't do it enough, but I think that is one of my favorite things. I do come out of meditations feeling really empowered and feeling really connected to. It. Has to be like a past life or something in my DNA, I don't know. That's how I feel about it because I'm so connected to Avalon.
Kim:I kept thinking you were saying Apollonian, like Apollo, and I've recently learned some like crappy things, so I'm glad you didn't say that no, no, no he just seems to be kind of a shit bird. Oh, yeah, yeah uh, what's something you did early in your practice that you don't do anymore, and why don't you?
Morgan:Oh, when I started out I was a fluffy bunny. I, yeah, I was one of those love and light like only positive vibes and like even if you know someone is actively harming me right now, I must send them love and light. Yeah, I started out as one of those witches.
Kim:That sounds like some turn the other cheek kind of crap to me.
Morgan:Yeah, I just I, I got really. I I've never been Wiccan, like so the threefold rule and stuff like that, like I've never really adhered to that, but I was really scared for a very long time to do anything that could be misconstrued as negative to where it would come back to me. Um. So yeah, I was definitely a love and light fluffy bunny witch and um it.
Morgan:I think what it takes is it takes some shit happening in your life to where you're like you know what Fuck, love and light I'm, I'm putting this bitch in a jar and I'm burying the jar in my yeah, so so that's what happened. Like somewhere along the line, shit happens and I took my own power into consideration and what would empower me and my practice the most, and then that worked. And then you're like, okay, hold on hold on this, I might be onto something here. So I would say now I probably fall more into the gray witch category. If it had to be categorized, I like to refer to myself as a fuck around and find out which. So that's that. I enjoy that. It suited me well for the last few years.
Kim:Yes, what is your favorite tool in your practice? It does not have to be a physical object. It can be a theory or something you hum to yourself. Whatever, what is your favorite tool and how do you use?
Morgan:it. I think my favorite tool, my most useful tool, has been my ability to ground. That has definitely been. That has helped me with anxiety. It's helped me not punch people in the face. It's helped me, you know, so flipping off my shoes and hitting. I don't have grass because I, you know Arizona and Tucson, so I sometimes have to stand on rocks or the sidewalk or concrete or something. But my ability to, I try to connect to the earth. I'll hug a tree, I don't care who's looking. So I think, to be honest, my ability to ground has probably been my most useful one.
Kim:And probably my favorite yeah place in england. But do you, consciously or not, stay conscious of things that happen here? Because, like monsoon, do you do anything witchy with our I'm not going to call it wheel of the year, but with our things that happen regularly, like right now, the, the prickly pear is ripening. That's what season it is to me. I don't do anything like that I don't um.
Morgan:Well, except for if we have a really good monsoon, like one that flips over our lawn furniture in the backyard, I will try and collect the water from that.
Morgan:That's how you know, yeah, and I, yeah, so I do collect the monsoon water. I have collected that. Yeah, so I do collect the the monsoon water. I have collected that. And then, as a monsoon is rolling in, um, I've, because I, I air sign and fire, that those are the two dominant elements in my, in my birth chart. Um, I love going outside when it's windy and just cleansing, like getting all of the negative energy, the shit off of me. And so when it's super windy during a monsoon, that's when I try to dig down and get, pull up some shit to like release. So that's that's really about all. Cause we don't I have to go up to Mount Lemon to collect things like pine cones and stuff like that, so even put on my altar to try and simulate fall, you know.
Kim:Actually I have, yeah, one of those seasons that we don't get.
Morgan:Yeah, yeah, and I have. I will have. Friends who live in places that have seasons send me leaves every fall to put on my altar because I yeah, it's, I. I love my friends that live in seasonal areas because I have to go all the way up to Mount Lemmon to grab leaves or something for like a fall type altar.
Kim:I still have not been up there. Oh wow, I've been here five years. Oh my gosh, I yeah, I don't like leaving my house it's like night and day, it's like 20 degree difference. So yeah, that's what I keep hearing. Ken keeps telling me well, it snows up there sometimes. One no, thank you. But also I feel like it's hard to believe. I'm sure it does. I believe that it does rationally, but the part of me that is sweating my dick off thinks that's impossible.
Morgan:We slowly start to unroll the windows as we go up the mountain and it's like this is night and day and I never want to go back down there to hell Does it smell good. Oh yeah.
Kim:It smells different from down here.
Morgan:Oh yeah, 100%. It smells like pine trees. I got to do that.
Kim:I need to make a point.
Morgan:Yeah, no, it smells gorgeous up there.
Kim:Oh my God, here's a small vent that I probably won't publish. I asked him to get me pine needles right because he was in a place I don't remember where he was not mount lemon but somewhere with pine trees. He bunch of brought a bunch of dead ones home. He brought out all the brown dead gross ones from the ground, which I appreciate don't hurt the trees. But that's not what I meant. I meant bring me up a bow, but I didn't specify and I don't know what he thought yeah, yeah, that's why I go up there.
Morgan:I will go up to the top of Mount Lemmon. I don't know, we don't usually get fall until what like January even I don't know how fall works here.
Kim:I I don't know.
Morgan:Yeah, I think Suddenly it's cold, that's what I think, and it's usually January, so we'll get like two weeks of fall in January and then two weeks of winter, also in January.
Morgan:That's batshit crazy. I will go, we will go up. We usually go up somewhere in like October, ish, September, October. We'll go to the top of the mountain for just like a morning and that's where I'm the crazy lady walking around collecting pine cones, pine needles, sometimes dirt rocks, you name it. I'm up there like gathering it so that I can bring it back down and maybe have some fall in in my house.
Kim:I need to do that. I really need to get up there. Dang it. Okay, Officially I'm going to, but not until after September, because I have my life is will go.
Morgan:So I have a room, it's our spare bedroom but it has my altars in it, um, and people don't come. They don't come to visit us, but maybe once a year. So, um, that's my, that's my happy place. So I, supposedly I have chalices that are supposed to be filled with water on a regular basis as an offering to Avalon and to my goddesses. They're they're usually dry, but I will go in there, I will fill up the water and just, and I will light a candle, light some incense and just sit in that room and kind of absorb the energy and talk. I talk to myself, but I mean like I guess I'm also talking to my guides and my deities and reground myself and then open myself up, be be like, okay, how do I get out of this? Like, how do I get out of this funk? And then I just stay open for signs from them.
Kim:That sounds useful. I should do that instead of just crying a lot, a lot, oh yeah. So the next question I want to invite you and I don't know listeners, whoever to come talk about it, because I asked this question and then when the episode airs, I try and remember to post it in the group and say this week's guest says they want to talk more about this, and then we talk about it and it's facebookcom slash group, slash Hivehouse. So whatever you say here, hopefully I will remember to approach the group about it when your episode airs. But what is something you wish was discussed more in the witch community?
Morgan:I think that would be the fact that there is no right or wrong to your magical practice. I I get a lot of questions from beginner witches, like they'll ask specific questions. Okay, like what, after I light this candle, what do I do next? And I'm always like what do you feel like doing next? And they're like well, no, you tell me what to do next. And I'm like I mean, I could give you a couple of ideas, but your magical practice is your own. And they're like but what if I get it wrong? And I'm like there's no right or wrong, like whatever works for you works for you.
Morgan:And I think that's a very common misconception in the witch community about how no one's practice is going to look like no one else's like they. And and the fact that what you see on Instagram and TikTok is not real, like let's go ahead and throw that out there. That's for a video for Instagram or TikTok. So if you're not sitting down with you know everything in a perfect place and practicing every single day, I doubt that people that post like that are doing that either. But that's not what witchcraft practice is quote, unquote supposed to look like. Like. It's not supposed to look like anything it's supposed to look like, whatever you want it to look like, and I don't think that that is stressed enough at all. Especially on social media, people are like this is how you practice, this is what it looks like, and I'm like that's not true at all.
Kim:It's like if you're teaching a class and you say, draw an egg, and I'm going to draw an oval, and somebody else does a 3D rendering of like Renoir picture of this egg. They're all eggs. It's just the way you do it, it's not wrong.
Morgan:I'm probably going to draw a fried egg. You can even draw a chicken and say it's in here.
Kim:It's inside the chicken, ha ha joke. Exactly, it's still an egg. Yep, yep, I didn't think about hash browns. Think about the three biggest influences on your practice. That doesn't have to be a person. It can be a book or a scientific theory, or a song you heard once.
Morgan:Thank these influences for what they have done to your practice. That's a good one. I have to start with Mara Freeman, who is one of the Avalonian people. She's actually. I started last year at a one-on-one mentoring session with her for Avalonian studies. I'm supposed to do a class a month. It's taken me over a year to do them, just because they are self-paced. But she's amazing. She's written a couple of books on them. In real life she's just the sweetest, nicest person ever. She really makes me think about things sometimes, like when I'm emailing her and you know questions about Avalon or about my practice. So she's definitely been a big one.
Morgan:Another one, as weird as it sounds, is the musical artist Queen Herbie she. I don't know if you're familiar with her. She's like a female rapper, but she's a witchy girl and her latest CD, especially her latest album album, has a lot of magical songs on it. But if I that's another thing I do when I'm in a slump is music. I will turn on some witchy Spotify list somewhere, but she's become one of my like. I love her lyrics. They're very empowering. They're very witchy. She's really turned up the witch factor on her music. And who is it? I love her lyrics. They're very empowering. They're very witchy. She's really turned up the witch factor on her music. And who is it? I love it, queen Herbie, but it's spelled like Somebody just recommended that to me two days ago, yep.
Kim:Never heard of that person before ever and someone just said, hey, have this person on what the heck. Now I guess I have to.
Morgan:She's always done like low-key, witchy stuff, um, but this last album, I think I think the album might be called the alchemist or something like that it's like super witchy. There's even a song called magic. That, right now, is it's. I listen to it at least once a day. Uh, it's amazing. But yeah, and it's spelled really weird. It's like q, v, e, e, n yeah, that's how she spells it. But yeah, that one amps up my witchy vibes, um, and then, I'm not gonna lie, I started out with.
Morgan:I started out with scott cunningham, of course I I think a lot of people do when they're starting to make the transition over. But then I read Silver Ravenwolf's books when I was 25 years ago, so like to ride a silver broomstick and to stir a magic cauldron. Anyway, they're cheesy as hell, but I love them. And because that's where I started, I think I will always hold a place in my heart for Silver Ravenwolf as an author, um, because she got me through. She got me, she helped me dip my toe into witchcraft to figure out what I wanted to do with it or where I wanted.
Kim:So, yeah, she did a collab with I don't remember who someone Hers is the only name I remember because hello, ravenwolf. How do you forget that? But the Witch Rune cards, the deck yes, that was one of the first things that I really got into actually learning about a specific form of divination. I don't use runes for divination anymore, but that was my intro. Oh, that's cool. What advice do you have for new witches Other than I mean I know you've given some already.
Morgan:Yeah, I think you definitely have to educate yourself Like read, Read everything, Read all of it. Like you definitely need to know what you're getting into when it comes to witchcraft and magic. So learn all of it, Even if you think you're not going to like whatever it is, read about it anyway, because you're not going to know until you educate yourself. And so read everything. Take what works for you and throw away what doesn't work for you and move on who after?
Kim:so now that you've seen what it is like to talk to me and what the questions are like, who do you think would be a fun guest to have on my show?
Morgan:I don't know like I was looking past and I started listening to a lot of them. Um, so I know you had like on when Avalon on there, which I thought was really cool, Um.
Kim:I thought of her when I realized you were saying Avalon and on Apple Apollo.
Morgan:Yeah, no, I, her books are great too. Um. So I saw that you had her on there and I kind of geeked out and was like, oh my God, have you had Jamie Della on?
Kim:No, but I've no, but I'm trying. I sent an email once and I will send more, but I really want to. Is there anything else you wanted to bring up Anything? I didn't ask Any questions for me. Anything cool happening with your business or your podcast?
Morgan:Yeah, so my podcast is called Busy, Gritty, Inked and Witchy, and if no one, if none of your listeners have ever heard of it and they happen to be on Spotify it's probably because we were categorized wrong up until this week for the last two years, so we were not going out to witchy people. I don't know who we were going out to.
Kim:Business administration.
Morgan:It was like it was under, I guess, because the first word is busy, so they put me under like lifestyle management and I'm like, oh, thank you. That's not helpful at all. I love that.
Kim:Busy moms. What the hell is this?
Morgan:Exactly, but no, we've got a lot of people. We've been open Goddess Creations has been open for 11 years and a lot of people have never heard of us either. I kept to myself until about this year or last year, but we have a monthly subscription box that's been going since 2016, called the Ink Goddess Creations box, and I'm in my third year of teaching in the Inked Spirit Coven, so all of that stuff can be found on our website at inkedgoddesscreationscom, and most of our products are exclusive to us, except for, like the gemstones, but most of our products are exclusive to us and they're made by witches for witches, so it makes us pretty. It's not like a cookie cutter store that you'll find on the internet, you know.
Kim:You mean you don't go on Amazon and bulk buy and then say, wow, look how witchy this spoon with a crystal on top is.
Morgan:I don't know. No, not at all. Yeah, yeah, we try to customize as much stuff as possible. So yeah, I mean spell oils, kits, candles, all of that kind of stuff.
Kim:So yeah, do you have a digital part of the membership?
Morgan:that's, that's all. The membership the coven is is all digital, like it's. I teach a class and a work to host a workshop on zoom every month for them, and then we have a Facebook group and everything they get their book of shadow pages are, you know, mp3s and yeah, the the coven is 100% digital. There's nothing we don't ever I've never even met. I have a few coven members that are in Tucson and some of them I've met. Some of them I haven't even met yet.
Kim:So, yeah, Well, it's hot here, I don't we? You have like one month where you can go outside and meet people.
Morgan:We do, and that's why. No, it's, that's why we're doing. We are doing our first in-person event in October, um, so that's called the Witches Bazaar, and I think the easiest way, because whenever this will go out, I should have the website up and functioning. Right now, the website's taking vendor applications, but we're going to switch over. So that's what is that? Witches-bazaarcom? And it's like B-A-Z-A-A-R, z-a-a-r, but yeah, so that's going to be our first in-person event. I'm really excited. That's why I want to meet the people in Tucson. I want to meet our Tucson customers, I want to meet everyone else that gets together and does all these other vendor events, and I'm a severe introvert, so I haven't gone to them and I feel bad. So I'm like you know what, if we just have everyone come to the office and that'll be good, but they're supposed to be, there was going to be like 20 vendors, um, and yeah, so that's going to be, uh, saturday, october 12th, from 12 PM to 6 PM, and the website will be updated with more details as we get closer to October.
Kim:I'm going to be there, yes, yes. One way or the other.
Morgan:Yeah, no, I'm really excited. I'm really excited to host it to meet the other vendors. Yeah, we're still accepting applications right now, but I've, I'm doing some narrowing down just because of, like, the uniqueness of some of the things. Like I want this to be a weird market. Yeah, that's what I want. Like I am envisioning just weird shit everywhere and it makes me really happy.
Kim:Cool, yeah so, amber, clear your schedule for the 12th. You have to meet me here. So the last two things I ask of my guests. Thing number one is please recommend something. It does not have to be witchy or magical or whatever.
Morgan:It can be the latest new thing at taco bell that you've tried and liked recommend I I'm gonna go back to to queen herbie I'm because her cd or her new album just launched within the last couple of weeks and it is it. It's super witchy and I super it's. She sings but she raps and I absolutely love it. It's my, it's my new jam right now. It's what I'm listening to pretty much on repeat. Yeah.
Kim:The last thing is please tell me a story.
Morgan:Yeah, the last thing is please tell me a story.
Kim:Oh, wow Just open-ended like that. Yes, I just like stories. Like probably 75% of the stories people tell are not witchy. They are just fucking hilarious or really touching, or it's like an old folk tale that they heard as a kid that they loved touching or it's like an old folk tale that they heard as a kid that they loved.
Morgan:Ah, okay, I I have one that I do love. I do love telling. So yeah, years, yeah, years ago, like we're talking, 15 years ago, I owned a brick and mortar store in the bible belt in south carolina and um, south Carolina, and I had I read tarot cards there. I'd read auras. It was great. But I had a customer who you know you just sometimes have those customers, you know, and he would come and hang out all the time. And so he comes flying into the shop one day and he's like Morgan, I have to get your advice on something. And I'm like all right, go. So he starts to tell this story about this girl that he works with. They worked at Walmart and they got into a power orb fight in Walmart In Walmart because they didn't like each other and he, he wanted advice on how to power, how to make his power orbs bigger. This was all serious too. So I am probably like, like what you're? Like, I was trying to keep a straight face, like uh-huh, I'm not trying Right, and I wouldn't be able to.
Kim:I was trying to keep a straight face Like uh-huh.
Morgan:I'm not trying, all right.
Kim:And I wouldn't be able to. If I was in person there, I would have to walk away.
Morgan:Yeah, so I. My advice to him was because he was worried about, like, hurting innocent bystanders with the power orbs. Yeah, so I. My advice, being the practical person I am, is why don't you not get into a power orb fight in the middle of walmart? And he's like, oh my god, I never thought of that. And I'm like, okay, I got you. Um, I cannot. Oh, no, yeah.
Morgan:And then what extends it even funnier is because I again I was the only witchcraft store small town in the south, so his power orb enemy also shopped at my store and she came in. Um, she did not tell me about the power orb, but she came in one day and was talking about how, during the full moon the night before, she had opened up a portal to one realm in one mirror in her bedroom, and then she opened up a portal to another realm in another mirror in her bedroom and she went to bed and she forgot that the two realms were mortal enemies and while she was sleeping they came through the mirror and fought in her bedroom, and so she wanted to know how to get them to stop fighting or not fight while. And so I I just looked at her and I was like have you tried covering the mirror? And she's like oh God, I never thought.
Kim:And I'm like why would you open it if you didn't know how to close it?
Morgan:I don't know, and these were like. This story is probably 16 years old and both of them have stuck with me for 16 years because I it was just. I mean, it came from my skeptical side. You know, my answers came from my practical, human, grounded what the fuck am I listening to right now? Side. But there's not a lot of people out there that have that side when they get into the magical world, and so it was fun for me. But I'm really also glad that I was able to help both of them with just some common sense measures of like covering up the the mirror and then, yes, let's close that.
Kim:Let's, let's close the portals, let's do that too this sounds like the plot to a looney tunes episode with bugs, bunny, daffy, duck and one other character who I have, I don't know, yosemite sam yes, I, I had to go back and watch old charmed episodes to see if they had gotten them off.
Morgan:that too, like just out of curiosity, if they had just fallen asleep to like the.
Morgan:CW, yeah, yeah, because I never. That was the thing about, like, which is why I swore when I opened up this store, I was like I'm, I am never going to open up a brick and mortar store again because I don't have that poker face anymore. Like I, I wear everything on my face. So, like I never know if someone is fucking with me, yeah, or if this is a promo trolling, yes, or if, if this is like, really like, they really think this. So I had to approach everything because I'm face to face with this person. I had to approach everything with the like belief that they truly believe this. So and they're coming to me for help. So I can't laugh, I can't be like what the fuck? I can't do any of that. Like I legit have to help them. And then, if they are trolling me, at fuck, I can't do any of that. Like I legit have to help them. And then, if they are trolling me, at least I wasn't mean to their face. You know what I mean.
Kim:Like they they'll play along, I would be my eyes would get big as they began speaking, and then I would have to turn around and start folding shirts with my back.
Morgan:Yes, While I had a lot of emotions on my face yes, yeah, I've done that before Like, thank God, at the time my kids were toddlers, so like they would come to work with me and the whole back room was just like one huge playroom for them. So I think there were quite a few times I would be like, oh, do you, do you hear that? That's my hold on my son, my son's crying. Just wait here for a second, I'll be right back, yeah.
Kim:And then you go to say aloud all the things you want to say, and then you come back and say the things that would be, appropriate.
Morgan:Yes, yeah.
Kim:Yeah, I've done that a lot of times. Well, thank you very much for being on the show.
